Lilia’s Polynesian Dance Studio classes continued:
KAHIKO (Ancient Chants) - Traditional, authentic chants,
full of history and legend will take you back to the times of
Kings and Queens, and when dancing was done only for religious
ceremonies!!
HULA PA’AHANA (Implement Hulas)
Puilis (split bamboo sticks), Uli Uli (Feathered gourds), Ipu
(gourd). These Hulas are exiting, challenging, colorful and fast
paced!
Tahiti & Cook Islands
There are different styles of Tahitian dancing. From the most
well known “Tahitian Otea”, with its pulsating drum
beats, to the story telling “Tahitian Aparima” , and
of course the beautiful and romantic “Hura” ! A definite
favourite of dancers and audiences alike!
